A MONTH-long programme of fun and activities will be taking place at the Yate Shopping Centre throughout August.
Starting on Tuesday, July 30 with classic Punch & Judy entertainment, there will be a continuous programme on every Tuesday and Thursday alongside the Beach throughout August until the final Thursday, August 29 when there will be a ‘Day at the Movies’ with the Beach closing on Saturday, August 31 31st August.
Andrew Lowrey, Yate Shopping Centre Manager: “The summer programme is always a blockbuster and this year is no exception.
"There is something for everybody’s taste included whether young or old and this year, being an Olympic year, we’ve included some sporting fun and crafts in the activities.
"Also, there is always the draw of the near one hundred shops in the Centre along with its many eateries and the cinema for those who like wider entertainment.”
The scheduled programme is:
- Tuesday 30th July: Punch & Judy
- Thursday, 1st August: Beach Party
- Tuesday, 6th August: Olympic Crafts
- Thursday, 8th August: The Sports Guides – Cheeky sporting fun!
- Tuesday, 13th August: Bumble Bees – Buzzing with mischief!
- Thursday, 15th August: Calypso Band
- Tuesday, 20th August: Pokeman Crafts
- Thursday, 22nd August: Beach Party
- Tuesday, 27th August: Punch & Judy
- Thursday, 29th August: A Day at the Movies
All events will be by the Beach in the Central Square and will run from 11am to 3pm.
