Currently, the Lysander Road branch is open from 6am to 11pm every day.
The site is located off Merlin Road towards the Cribbs Causeway Interchange for the M5.
However, a planning application has now been submitted to South Gloucestershire Council to allow the site off the M5 to be open all day and night.
The application is for a Certificate of Lawfulness, which would confirm that the proposed unrestricted trading operation is legal.
The application, submitted by Savills on behalf of McDonald's Restaurants Limited, states that there are no planning restrictions on the hours of operation.
It reads: "This application has been submitted to certify that there are no planning restrictions on the hours of operation for the restaurant, which can therefore operate 24 hours a day."
The documents say that planning permission was granted for the site back in 1988 by North Avon District Council.
According to Savills, this permission did not include any conditions on the hours the restaurant could open.
This is not the only McDonald's branch in the Cribbs Causeway area.
There is another McDonald's site located under a mile away near Asda - in Highwood Lane which is also open from 6am to 11pm every day.
