AN overturned van caused six miles of congestion on the M5 this morning.
The incident happened between junctions 16 and 17, near Almondsbury, Bristol, on the southbound carriageway at 6.30am, today, Monday, August 4.
Two lanes were closed while contractors and traffic officers worked to clear a large spillage on the road surface.
This resulted in a 45-minute delay and six miles of congestion.
In an update at 8.30am, National Highways confirmed all lanes had reopened.
