Most popular baby names in South Gloucestershire revealed

THE most popular names for babies born in South Gloucestershire and the Stroud district have been revealed.

The Office for National Statistics has unveiled the most popular names for boys and girls born last year. 

Olivia was the most popular girl's name in South Gloucestershire with 35 babies given the name in 2024. 

Meanwhile, Jack was the most popular boy’s name in South Gloucestershire with 35 babies given the name in 2024. 

Elsewhere, according to the ONS data, Isabelle and Poppy were the most common girls’ names in the Stroud district.

In total, ten babies were given each name in 2024.

Meanwhile, Thomas was the most popular boys’ name with 14 babies given the name last year in the Stroud district. 

Overall in England and Wales, Muhammad and Olivia were the most popular names for babies born in 2024.
