A MUSIC teacher from Dursley has been charged with multiple sexual offences against children.
Philip Anderson, aged 49 and from Dursley, is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 20 after being charged under an investigation led by Gloucestershire Constabulary’s Child Exploitation team.
He faces six counts of sexually assaulting a girl under 13 by touching.
The alleged offences took place between 2020 and 2024 and involve six girls at two Gloucestershire schools where Anderson worked.
He has also been charged with two counts of sexually assaulting a female over 16, relating to a girl he privately tutored at his home studio.

Anderson has been released on bail with strict conditions, including no unsupervised contact with anyone under 18, a ban on entering any educational establishment where children are present, and no contact with prosecution witnesses.
Detective Inspector Cheryl Godwin, from the Child Exploitation team, said: "We understand how concerning it can be for parents and carers when someone who is in contact with children is charged with these types of offences.
"Please speak with your child’s school if you have any safeguarding concerns and if you wish to report something to the police, please do contact us."
Gloucestershire Constabulary has reminded the public that criminal proceedings are ongoing and that no information should be shared publicly that could prejudice the case or identify the victims, who are entitled to lifelong anonymity.
