Carter also targeted Morrison’s Daily in Little Stoke and stole a range of items including beauty products and confectionery.
Sergeant Richard Humphrey of the neighbourhood policing team said: "Carter has persisted with his offending, and we hope the sentence handed down to him reflects the seriousness of his actions.
"We also hope the fact he is now in prison brings some reassurance to business owners and the public, and we will continue to work closely with partners to tackle repeat offenders who cause harm to our communities.”
