An approximately 11-night road closure is affecting a busy route in Quedgeley.

The B4008 Bristol Road will be shut between 8pm and 7am for carriageway resurfacing, excluding weekends and bank holidays.

The closure began on Monday, April 20 and will remain in place overnight until Tuesday, May 5.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire County Council said: "We will be resurfacing the road at the above location.

"To ensure the safety of you and our work force we have made a temporary traffic order to close the road.

"We appreciate road closures are inconvenient, but to keep you and the team working on the road safe it is necessary.

"We have planned the work so we can be in and out as quickly as possible and have tried to do it at a time that will minimise any inconvenience."

The council says the closure area may extend beyond the resurfacing zone to allow space for equipment, machinery, and materials.

It has also warned that the resurfacing programme could be affected by adverse weather, equipment breakdowns, or other unforeseen issues.

Updates will be shared on the council's roads website and social media accounts.
