A motorist who was caught by an automated speed camera driving at 68mph on the M4 has been fined.
Omar Ali, 58, of Goodhind Street, Bristol, was travelling behind the wheel of a Lexus on March 23, 2025 when he was clocked at 68mph on the M4.
Variable speed restrictions were in place at the time and the temporary speed limit was 50mph on the busy motorway.
Appearing at Bath Law Courts on Tuesday, April 21, Ali pleaded guilty to the offence of speeding.
He was fined £293 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £117 and prosecution costs of £130, leaving court with a total bill of £540.
The 58-year-old was also handed four penalty points.
The Adver recently reported a separate, similar case involving a Swindon motorist who was fined after being caught driving at 67mph.
Joseph Amenebede, 38, of Dydale Road, Taw Hill, was recorded travelling eastbound near junction 19 in September 2025.
He was also caught breaking the speed limit as a 50mph restriction had been enforced.
Amenebede avoided a driving disqualification and he was fined £230.
He was handed three penalty points and he was ordered to pay a surcharge of £92.
