A SECTION of the A4174 will close for overnight resurfacing.

The westbound carriageway between Wick Wick Roundabout and Bromley Heath Roundabout will be shut for seven nights from Monday, May 11.

Work will take place between 8pm and 6am, with a signed diversion route in operation during the closure.

The council has asked the public for patience while the resurfacing is carried out.

A South Gloucestershire Council spokesperson said: "Following completion of the works at the end of last year, our team identified some unforeseen quality issues with the material provided.

"This issue was raised with the supplier and in line with contractual requirements the supplier is replacing the material at no additional cost to South Gloucestershire Council.

"Thank you for your patience and cooperation while these essential improvements are carried out."
