FOOTBALL fans in Gloucestershire are being offered a rare opportunity to spend an evening with England football legend Sir Geoff Hurst.

 Sir Geoff will appear at the Ivy Montpellier Brasserie in Cheltenham for an exclusive one-night event on the eve of England’s opening FIFA World Cup match against Croatia, sharing stories from England's historic 1966 World Cup victory, reflecting on his remarkable career and discussing England's prospects for the summer ahead.

Hosted on Sir Geoff’s "home ground", guests will enjoy a 3-course dinner and a glass of Laurent-Perrier Champagne before an intimate live Q&A with the football icon as part of The Ivy Collection's Summer of Sport celebrations.

England's opening group game against Croatia is on Wednesday, June 17 - kick-off is at 9pm.

Sir Geoff Hurst is best known for scoring a historic hat-trick in England’s 4–2 win over West Germany in the 1966 World Cup final, the only player ever to do so in a World Cup final.

A West Ham United great, he scored well over 200 club goals and later played for Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion. He was knighted in 1998.
