Delays on M5 in Gloucestershire latest amid traffic

A stalled vehicle has closed a lane on the M5, causing long delays for drivers.

The southbound carriageway remains partially blocked between junction 14 (Thornbury/Falfield) and junction 15 (Almondsbury Interchange).

An update by National Highways, at 5.30pm, read: "Lanes 1 and 2 (of 3) are closed on the M5 southbound in between J14 Falfield and J15 M4 junction due to a broken down HGV.

"Recovery crews are on scene.

"Current delays of 68 minutes on the approach, with five miles of congestion."

The incident was first reported at around 3.04pm according to the AA Traffic Maps. 

According to the map, significant delays remain.
