School transport services have been suspended across South Gloucestershire due to extreme high temperatures.
Vehicles are expected to resume normal operation from Friday, subject to temperatures reducing.
A council spokesperson said: "This decision has been taken to protect the health and safety of passengers.
"The level of heat expected in the vehicles cannot be effectively managed, creating a risk to those travelling.
"In addition, many schools have also confirmed they will be closed during this period."
"We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if anything changes."
