OVERNIGHT and daytime road closures are set to affect drivers in and around Chipping Sodbury and Old Sodbury later this month and in July.
South Gloucestershire Council will carry out overnight surfacing works on the cobbled areas at the top of High Street and on Horse Street on Monday, June 29.
Both sections will be closed from 8pm to 6am for resurfacing, with short road closures in place and local diversions signed on the night. Further information is available via Sodbury Town Council’s news pages.
The council says the imprint works to match the existing decorative surface will follow in August, with the exact date still to be confirmed.
In Old Sodbury, a separate temporary road closure is planned for Chapel Lane from July 16.
The order covers the stretch of Chapel Lane between its junction with Catchpot Lane and its junction with Mill Lane.
This closure is needed for pole replacement works on or next to the highway and is intended to protect the public while the job is carried out.
Although the legal closure order can run for up to 18 months, the works themselves are only expected to take about two days and the road will only be closed when signs are in place.
During the Chapel Lane closure, traffic will be diverted via the remaining open sections of Chapel Lane, Badminton Road and Catchpot Lane.
