National Highways has announced the changes, which are set to start on July 6 on the M48 in South Gloucestershire to allow for bridge deck repairs and maintenance.

The new speed limits will be 50mph westbound from 600 metres east to 60 metres west of the westbound exit slip road at Junction 1.
There will also be a mandatory 30mph limit westbound from 60 metres west of the westbound exit slip road at Junction 1 to 45 metres west of the circulatory carriageway at Junction 1.
The same 30mph limit will apply eastbound from 45 metres west of the circulatory carriageway at Junction 1 to 213 metres east of the eastbound exit slip road at M48 Junction 1.
Additionally, the M48 will be closed overnight from 8pm to 6am in certain sections.
The westbound from Junction 1 to 45 metres west of the circulatory carriageway at Junction 1, the eastbound from 45 metres west of the circulatory carriageway at Junction 1 to Junction 1, and the westbound entry slip road at Junction 1 will all be affected.
Lane closures will also occur through the works, and during these closures, traffic will be diverted via the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge.
The speed limits and closures will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.
The order is set to last for a maximum of 18 months.
The speed limit will not apply to emergency service or special forces vehicles.
