THOUSANDS of local produce lovers descended on Hawkesbury Upton on Saturday for the village’s annual show.
This year was the 124th Hawkesbury Horticultural Society Show and it proved more popular than ever.
Around 2,500 people visited the village hall and recreation ground to view the produce on display in the main marquee including fruit and vegetables, flowers, crafts and home baking as well as photographs and pictures.
The event was launched with a carnival procession through the village and was followed by an afternoon of entertainment.
Youngsters enjoyed fairground rides and archery displays, Dolly the rodeo sheep and hawk and owl displays. There was also live music, a deer roast, vintage cars and buses, a raffle and a bar.
