POLICE in Wickwar are hunting for thieves who targeted village allotments over the summer.

There were five recorded thefts in July and August including one incident in which a rifle was stolen.

In a second theft, a tent was taken from a shed which had been bolted shut but not locked.

A wheelbarrow was stolen in a further incident and thieves used a garden hoe to break down the door of another shed.

On August 7, between 10am and 2.30pm, a car parked near the allotments was damaged by offenders who used a felt tip pen to draw on it.

PCSO Haley Harrison said: "We have no suspects for any of these offences but if you may have seen something or you know who might be responsible please contact the beat team on 0117 9455979 to help us progress these crimes."
