THORNBURY’S younger residents now have the chance to get active at a new soft play centre.

Jungle Chums was opened earlier this month at Acorn Farm in Milbury Heath, by Yate couple Gemma Riden and Paul Nicoll.

The soft play centre is open seven-days a week, and is available for children to go and play, and can be hired for children’s parties.

The centre has designated areas for children aged between birth and three years, and a separate area for three to 10 year olds. There is also an in-house café.

Gemma said the couple decided to open the play facility after having their own daughter, Aaliyah, who is now one.

"Having our daughter changed out perspective on life and we decided we wanted to refocus, do something together that was family orientated, and something for the local community.

"Having a child also made us realise that there was a niche in the market for this kind of facility," she said.

Jungle Chums is open Monday to Friday 9.30am-5.30pm, Saturdays 10am-6pm, and Sundays 10am-4pm.
