A CHARFIELD family are furious after there are still problems with the house they moved into 10 months ago.

The Ball's moved into what they called their 'dream home' in October 2017.

Since then they claim there have been almost 300 faults with the £500,000 Crest Nicholson property on Cranesbill Crescent, Charfield.

These include uneven floors, roof lights hanging down and water damage.

Although Crest Nicholson claim none of these are 'structural issues' the Ball's claim the house is not straight.

On Saturday, August 18 Patrick, who lives at the house with wife Rachel and nine-year-old son Keaton, parked his car outside the Crest Nicholson show home in Charfield. In the windows were signs warning off potential buyers.

In May they put up signs outside their house to show their displeasure at the situation.

They have also set up a Facebook page entitled 'The Wonky House of Charfield' to share their experience.

The Ball's even moved out of their new home for two weeks whilst works were carried out.

Patrick said: "It's been what seems like forever. From day one we have had problems. The lack of customer service has been abhorrent."

A spokeswoman for Crest Nicholson said: “We expect all our homes to be delivered to a high standard. When Mr and Mrs Ball moved in, we acknowledged the number of second-fix items requiring attention was higher than it should be.

There were no structural issues, and the property was signed off by independent body NHBC (National House Building Council).

“We worked closely with Mr and Mrs Ball to undertake the remedial works with minimal disruption and at a time to suit them.

“Mr & Mrs Ball placed misleading signage outside their home, much to the upset of other happy residents.

"We are disappointed that we have not been able to meet the expectations of Mr and Mrs Ball but we believe we have gone above and beyond to resolve their issues and have referred them to the NHBC’s Dispute Resolution Service.”
