A CHARMING hare has been greeting visitors to Wotton throughout the summer, as part of the Cotswold Hare Trail.
Entitled ‘Hare in Sheep’s Clothing’’ , it is situated outside the town’s heritage and visitor centre.
Janet Walshe, who works at the centre, said: “The hare was very kindly sponsored by Renishaw.
“It has resulted in extra visitors to Wotton, who have been taking part in the trail, with many folk having their photographs taken with it.
“All the hares will be going back to Cirencester on Saturday, to be displayed before they are auctioned for charity.
“But it would be marvellous if someone in Wotton might put in a bid for it so our hare could become a permanent feature in the town.
“Like many towns, we’re working very hard to keep our wonderful High Street alive.
“Let’s hope our hare may find a permanent home here in the town.”
‘Hare in Sheep’s Clothing’ was decorated by artist Freeda Lapos Babson, in honor of the Cotswolds’ wool industry.
