The Book of Boba Fett has dropped its first episode on Disney Plus this morning (Wednesday December 29), which has seen mostly positive reaction on social media.

It is a spin-off from another Disney Plus series, The Mandalorian, after the infamous bounty hunter was found to have survived falling into the Sarlaac pit during Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

During series two of The Mandalorian Boba Fett helped the titular character out and in a post-credits scene in the final episode went back to Tatooine to take over an area once controlled by Jabba the Hutt.

The show picks up from that point with Fett and assasin Fennec Shand attempting to make a name for themselves in the galaxy's underworld.

Both Temeura Morrison and Ming-Na Wen reprise their roles from The Mandalorian.

What was the reaction to The Book of Boba Fett's first episode?

The first episode dropped on Disney Plus at 8am UK time, with reaction on social media being quite positive.

One user on Twitter wrote: "The book of Boba Fett!!! One of my favourite characters in the Star Wars universe, and Disney plus have smashed it out the park again! These series are miles ahead of anything Star Wars related in the last 10 years."

Christian Arhar was also pleased, saying: "I enjoyed the first episode of #BookofBobaFett And it doesn‘t matter if she is in „Agents of SHIELD“ or „Book of Boba Fett“, Ming-Na Wen is always badass."

Another user posted: "I’m obsessed with #TheBookOfBobaFett & I can’t wait for Chapter 2 next week!"

Not everyone enjoyed the episode though, with one Twitter user writing: "the book of boba fett is so bad bring back grogu and mandalorian NOW".

A new episode will drop every Wednesday on Disney Plus up until February 9, 2022.
