PREPARE to travel “Over the Rainbow” with this year’s music production from the Olveston Parish Players – The Wizard of Oz.

Shows will be on February 14-17 at 7.30pm, with the Parish Hall in Tockington set to be packed once again, as families enjoy a half term treat featuring favourites from the 1939 film starring Judy Garland.

Get carried away by this enchanting tale, as Dorothy Gale - Aggie Barnes and Isobel Lambie on alternate nights - is whisked away from Kansas to the magical Land of Oz by a tornado.

As she attempts to find her way home, she makes some new friends: the Scarecrow (David Proud), the Tin Man (Paul Dimery) and the Cowardly Lion (Ray Hale).

With the help of the good and gentle Sorceress of the North (Van Andrew) they face many challenges – not least the evil and scheming Wicked Witch of the West (Amy Sunderland).

If the four friends make it to Emerald City, will the great Wizard of Oz (Richard Newley) grant their wishes, or will their journey be in vain?

Director Linda Evans, musical director Chloe Allsopp-Jones and choreographer Jill Harris bring yet another polished production that is sure to bring a smile to faces, with everyone singing all the way home.
