BERKELEY-BASED rider Peter Georgi, retained his title at the Masters National Track Championships held over the weekend at the Newport velodrome in South Wales.

Riding for Giant CC Halo Films, Georgi won gold in the 3km pursuit and silver in the 20km points race for the men’s 45-49 category.

His wife Louise Georgi narrowly missed a medal, placing fourth in the 10km points race in the ladies’ 40-49 category. Team-mates Chris Davis and Johannes Roux also found success.

Frenchay-based Davis won gold in the 2km pursuit, silver in the 10km scratch race and bronze in the 15km points race in the men’s 55-59 category, whilst Roux, who lives in Olveston, took bronze in the 3km pursuit for men aged 45-49.

Meanwhile, Peter and Louise’s children, Etienne and Pfeiffer Georgi, were delighted to hear this week that they have both been selected to represent England South in the 2013 Inter Regional Track Championships and the 2013 UK School Games.

The Inter Regional Track Championships take place over three days in the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome, Glasgow in August and each regional team comprises four boys and three girls born between 1997 and 2000, whilst the School Games comprise three days’ of road events based in Sheffield in September.
