DURSLEY ROAD Club tasted success by taking the top spot at Bristol Bikefest.
Racing in the six-hour event the DRC team of Felix Wilkinson, Chris Lane, Neil Dimon and Garry Strickland recorded quick lap times on a fast, technical course at Ashton Court, which wasn’t helped by the damp weather, pushing trade team Rocky Mountain Bikes into second spot.
Dursley were also represented in the National 50 mile Time Trial with Simon Williams finishing 23rd in a field of 120.
On a rolling course, unsuited to Williams’ physique and riding credentials, he recorded a superb time of 1:55:37 to average a speed of 25.95 mph for the 50-mile event.
Thursday evening club events still continue with a full diary of Time Trials. Visit www.dursleyroadclub.org.uk for further details.
