A SOLITARY goal from Thornbury's promising Ellen Morgan was not enough to gain a draw away at Somerset Gryphons in a friendly fixture, Sian Fuller's side going down 2-1.
Meanwhile in the home friendly, Cirencester Seconds were comfortable 5-0 winners over Thornbury Seconds.
The home side created a number of pleasing passing movements but were unable to score despite some narrow misses from Lorna Thornton, Amy Morse and Hollie Weir.
Lauren Upham relished the captain’s armband and provided a number of useful touches whilst, Angela Greenslade, Jean Lester and Sarah Brearley gave their usual committed performances.
Both sides are at home on Saturday. The seconds host Dursley at 10.30am, and the firsts entertain Westberries thirds at midday.
