AN UNBEATEN half-century off 33 balls by Iain Green plus three wickets for three runs from Vince Taylor and excellent close catches for Kingswood Village tipped the balance in the club’s first 2015 Pratt game at Tortworth.

They were two matched sides but a freak stumping in the first over of Kingswood`s Kevin Morgan, matching his similar run out, backing up at Charfield the previous Sunday, stunned Kingswood.

It left skipper Ben Foxwell (19) and Mike Colborn (10) to launch the assault. But their wickets plus the fall of left the visitors on a parlous 41-4  at nearly halfway.

With support only from Chas Walwin (12), Iain Green blitzed the mid-wicket boundary before his retirement for 50.

Dave Werrett (3-17) mopped up the tail with 17 balls to spare leaving Tortworth an achievable 109 to win

Tortworth`s chase never got going. Only John Roe (10) reached double figures as Kingswood`s seamers, Vince Taylor (3-3) with his slow left arm and superb wicket catches by keeper Morgan, and balletic Slip Taylor ripped out Tortworth for 70 leaving a slightly unlikely 38 run win for Kingswood.
