Glos CCL Division Three

Chipping Sodbury 2s 178-9

Hatherley & Reddings 2s 0-0

Match abandoned

CHIPPING Sodbury seconds batted all 45 overs to reach 178-9 at home to their Hatherley counterparts, Matt Webb top scoring on 40.

But heavy showers during the tea break ruled out any more play before the game was abandoned.

It was the same story on the adjacent Jim Cowles Ground where Sodbury thirds were in a useful position against Brislington thirds in a Division Seven Bristol & District encounter.

Bris were bowled out for 95, Harry Phillips claiming 4-18 while there was also a return of 3-14 by Dan Brown with Callum Davidge keeping the pressure on with figures of 2-16, all from nine.

Sodbury were 14-1 in the second over when their reply was ended by heavy showers.

In Division 11, Sodbury fourths totalled 113-9 away to Bitton 2nds, skipper Damian Frodsham top scoring with 38 in a game reduced to a 20-over slog.

But, once again, the wet weather prevented a conclusion, as it did for Sodbury 5ths who had restricted Frampton Cotterell 3rds to 53-6 from the best part of 30 overs before the rain clouds rolled in and ended proceedings.

Sodbury had produced their most disciplined bowling dis- play of the season, led by Tony Garton (3-12 from eight) and well-supported by Dan Whittaker (0-7 from six), Chris Young (1-12, from six) and Craig Hambly (1-11 from six).
