Bristol Pheonix 366-2

Bath 110

Bristol Pheonix won by 256 runs

THE PHEONIX 1st XI had a convincing 256-run win at Chipping Sodbury over Bath, dominated by 165 (111) from Abby Evans, her highest ever score, and 109 (107) from Naomi Forecast, her maiden century.

After a slow first over both batters started to pile on the runs reaching 50 in the 7th over, 100 in the 17th, and 200 in the 28th until Naomi retired with the score approaching 300.

Abby was bowled soon after leaving it to Dani Gibson to finish the scoring with a quick fire 45* while Charlie Walker (7*) watched from the other end. The forty overs completing with the score on 366 for two.

From the off it was going to be a tough ask for the young Bath batters although Phoenix helped their cause by conceding forty extras.

Wickets fell in a steady stream with only two Bath batters reaching double figures. Abby (6,1-1-17-4) and Chloe Davis (8-0-24-4) took four wickets apiece restricting Bath to 110, leaving Charlie Phillips to top score on 25*.

A very convincing win, one that puts Phoenix top of the South West League.
