ENGLAND and Western Storm seamer Anya Shrubsole has suffered a small side strain and will sit out her side’s Kia Super League opener against Southern Vipers at the Ageas Bowl on Thursday.
Shrubsole was one of England women's heroes who won the Women's World Cup last month.
She was due to be back in domestic action this week for the Storm but her injury may rule her out for the next match.
While Western Storm’s second game – against Loughborough Lightning at Taunton on Saturday – may also come too soon for Shrubsole, it is hoped that she will recover in time to play a full part against Yorkshire Diamonds on Sunday August 20.
