GLOUCESTERSHIRE head coach Richard Dawson was left ‘frustrated’ after his side suffered a five wicket defeat in their T20 Blast clash with Sussex at Hove on Friday night.
Gloucestershire struggled at the start, with Michael Klinger’s wicket and that of Iain Cockbain, going in the first over.
But Phil Mustard and Cameron Bancroft shored up the innings as Gloucestershire reached 138 all out.
Sussex replied with 139-5 despite losing four wickets for 16 runs in their innings.
Dawson said: “We recovered really well from losing two wickets in the first over. Mustard and Bancroft put us in a really good position at halfway but then we kept losing wickets and didn't even bat 20 overs.
“As it turned out, another 15 or 20 runs might have given us a winning score so that's frustrating.
“The intent we showed with the ball was very good. We defended a similar score against Kent but in the end we just didn't get enough runs with the bat.”
