IT has been a fantastic week for City fans as we picked up two wins on the road as well as land a plum Carabao Cup quarter-final draw against one of the biggest football clubs in the world - Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.

In my time supporting City, we have had awful luck in the cup draws and always managed to avoid the big Premier League clubs.

But the odds of getting a big club were stacked in our favour in last Thursday’s draw and the visit of United is the biggest cup game we have had since City’s famous win at Anfield against Liverpool all the way back in 1994.

Although a one-off game, it’s a great reward for the players and fans and will no doubt help raise the profile of the club.

The game against United will take place at Ashton Gate on Wednesday December 20 (8pm) and for those who can’t get a ticket will be broadcast live on Sky.

Back to league matters and City have had two excellent wins on their travels this week.

At Sunderland on Saturday, City took a first-half lead against the run of play through Bobby Reid. But The Black Cats equalised early in the second half. Head coach Lee Johnson made a game-changing substitution soon after though, with the introduction of Djuric up front.

The big Bosnian changed the complexion of the game and got City a deserved winner with 17 minutes to go.

At Fulham on Tuesday night, City recorded a fourth straight win at Craven Cottage. Fulham looked poor and City played some excellent football at times, eventually running out 2-0 winners.

We have a great team spirit and young, energetic side that look set to have a very good season.

Cardiff City are the visitors to Ashton Gate on Saturday for the Severnside derby (12pm).
