Dumbleton 243-6 beat Thornbury 240 ao by four wickets
FOR THE second week in a row, Thornbury went down to West of England Premier League Prem 2 Glos/Wilts division – and, this time, it cost them a place at the top of the table.
The match between leaders Thornbury and second-placed Dumbleton was huge for both sides, but the home team came away from the match as winners by four wickets.
Thornbury batted first but lost cheap wickets as Neil Stovold, Josh Slade and Dan Lezar all went for single figures.
Opener Dan Davis stood his ground for 31 before he was trapped lbw, but the mid-order batting combination of Luke Davis and Danny Slade recovered the situation.
Davis went for 68, having hit seven fours and a six, while Slade made 53 to help Thornbury reach 240 all out.
Dumbleton’s reply revolved around openers Adam Stuart, with 88, and Rupert Salmon (41) and.
Luke Davis took three wickets but Thornbury were beaten as Dumbleton totalled 243-6.
