A STUDENT at Castle School has had a very busy summer.

Pfeiffer Georgi, 17, is a sixth form student at the secondary school has been drawing lots of attention during her 'holidays'.

Georgi was part of the GB Cycling Team that competed in the UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships.

As part of the cycling squad she won bronze in the four kilometre Team Pursuit event at the UCI World Cycling Centre in Switzerland.

It was a fantastic achievement for the team, as they also broke the national record twice during the event.

Team GB recording a new time of 4.32 seconds.

Following on from that, the 17-year-old then went on to claim a silver medal on the road in the 2018 RTTC 10 mile Time Trial National Junior Championships that were held in Scotland.

She clocked a time of 21 minutes and 22 seconds, whilst riding for Liv Cycling Club Halo Cycles, beating her own personal best to secure the podium.

Following on from the second event of her summer, Georgi put the Team GB jersey back on to take part in the three day Watersley Junior Women Road Race in Hollland.

Competing in the 58km event, Pfeiffer came away with the overall victory.

The accomplished rider then held on to her lead after securing second and fifth place finishes in the subsequent 12km time trial and 67km road race.
