It's been all change at Dursley Rugby Club at the start of the 2018/19 season.

Former club captain Jack Robson has taken over as the club's new head coach and got off to a tricky start having lost his first two games against Old Cryptians and Old Elizabethans.

The 29-year-old from Cam has played for Dursley since he was six years old, winning many honours including seven county appearances as a senior player.

Robson said: “I’m really looking forward to working with a talented group of lads that have been together for a while now. We’ve been inconsistent in our results over the last couple of seasons and that’s something I’ll be looking to change. If we can get that right then there’s no reason we shouldn’t be playing in Glos Prem next season.”

Jake Ward, senior rugby manager at Dursley is delighted with the appointment, he said:

"I'm excited about the new coaching set up this year. We've brought in Jack because he brings a wealth of rugby playing and leadership experience and I hope his winning mentality will continue in his new coaching role."

"Myself and Jack have had many conversations over the summer and it’s clear that he has very high expectations for the current squad, with promotion being his main priority. He is also keen for the squad to follow in his footsteps and win a game a twickenham."
