Stroud and District Division 1: In the season-opener Phoenix A entertained a slightly rusty Cirencester, the visitors were sent home with no reward as Laurence Manley, Dave Hadley and Eddie Roofe all went unbeaten, home side won 10-0.

Woodchester B entertained Phoenix B with the home side edging the score 6-4 although man-of-the-match was the visitors Liwu Wei who scored a maximum.

Dave Reeves scored a maximum for Thornbury A as they got their season off to a 6-4 victory against the visiting Phoenix C. Frampton A travelled to Yate, but were soundly beaten by the home team with both Andy Cox and Will Berkley recording maximum scores in a 7-3 win.

Division 2: Alan Giles was man-of-the-match for Forest Green B, scoring a hat-trick, but he couldn’t prevent the home side losing 4-6 to the visiting Whiteshill A. Theo Laffort was unbeaten on the night as Randwick B defeated the visiting Thornbury B 6-4. George Thomas was man of the match for Cam & Dursley A scoring a hat-trick against the visiting Nailsworth A in a 6-4 victory.

Division 3: With both sides bringing in a player in from the lower division, the result should have been close, but Cam & Dursley B lost 1-9 to the visiting Phoenix F, with both Meg Willsher and Andy Hammond returning maximums.

Newly-promoted Phoenix G suffered a 2-8 home defeat against the visiting Randwick C for whom Jim Hurford scored a maximum.

Division 4: Randwick D secured a comfortable home win against the visiting Nailsworth B. Mark Edwards and Alun R Davies were both unbeaten for the home side as they won 8-2. The points were shared at 5-5 between Forest Green C and the visiting Cam & Dursley C with no player from either side able to dominate.
