A SIXTH FORM student from Marling School has won an impressive collection of medals in national and international sport competitions this year.

Over the summer holidays, Isaac Steele took part in the *Target Sprint ISSF World Tour German Open in Germany. And, following strong performances all season, he was selected to compete at the World Championships in South Korea in September. There he competed in the Men’s Junior Target Sprint and achieved a personal best time of five minutes and 17 seconds.

Following his international successes, Isaac was selected to compete in the Target Sprint GB Festival in Yate earlier this month. He won a silver medal in the GB Championships and bronze medals in the ISSF World Tour British Open and National Series final.

Isaac said: “It was a great experience going to Germany and South Korea to represent Great Britain. It’s hard work training in all weathers but I really enjoy Target Sprint as it combines accuracy and speed and I look forward to taking part in more competitions.”

He is ranked 5th in the world for Men’s Junior Target Sprint, but this will rise when his latest performances are taken into account.

Steve Farr, head of Marling School Sixth Form, said: “Isaac has done incredibly well and what an honour to represent your country! We are extremely proud of him and are so pleased that all his hard work and efforts are paying off.”
