Forest Green boss Mark Cooper said fans should stay at home if they don't like what they are seeing at the New Lawn.

Revered by fellow League Two managers for their possession-based football, Cooper became frustrated by a section of fans who want to see his side revert to a long-ball game after Rovers were defeated at home in the league for the first time this season.

Criticised by the fans that sit behind him during the 1-0 defeat to Morecambe, he responded in his post-match interview, the 49-year-old was clearly irked, he said: “I sometimes wonder whether the fans behind me would like us just to whack the ball from back-to-front like we used to in the olden days, and the ball would be out of play for 70 minutes of the game, but it would make them feel better probably, rather than us trying to produce good footballers, yes you’ll lose the odd game at home, but we won't change as we try to play football, so if you don’t like it, don’t bother coming.”
