Dursley Ladies 4
Thornbury 0
DURSLEY maintained second-place in the league with this comfortable win over Thornbury, writes Ralph Darby.
The home team made a great start with a goal inside the first minute. Hattie Dent made a run into the visitors defence before passing to Chloe McGregor whose shot came back to Caitlin Cother, who scored from close in. After several near misses, Cother scored her second with a solo effort taking the ball from just inside the Thornbury half and breaking through the visitors' defence before beating the keeper.
When Thornbury threatened Linzi Moulder and Stacey Sealey dealt with this without keeper Aine Redmond having much to do.
After the break, Dursley continued to dominate particularly down the right wing prompted by Pip Cory. Substitute Leanne Smith was in the right place to prod home a rebound after good team build up work. Cother then completed her hat- trick with a cracking shot after a cross from the right came to her through a packed defence.
