Yate Town boss Paul Britton is eyeing two more signings to bolster his squad.

The Bluebells suffered just their second league defeat of the season against Paulton Rovers at the weekend and Britton is keen to bounce back quickly ahead of their game against Larkhall Athletic at The Jelf Stadium this Saturday.

Britton has had a couple of knock-backs on the transfer front recently but he's stepped up his pursuit again this week.

Britton said: "I'm hoping we can get two over the line by Friday.

"We're looking for a defensive player and an attacking midfielder.

"We're close but a lot is now down to paperwork but hopefully we could have something in time for Saturday's game."

Britton will be looking for a reaction from his players when they take on Larkhall on Saturday afternoon.

Yate dropped to second in the table after losing to Paulton while Larkhall are currently 12th in the Evo-Stik South Division One South and Britton is expecting a difficult game.

"It'll be another tough game for us," added Britton.

"We know a lot about them and it'll be a similar game to the one at Paulton.

"It's been a long time since we haven't been top of the league but hopefully we'll bounce back."

After Saturday's game against Larkhall, Yate travel to Slimbridge for a local derby on Saturday, December 15.

They then have a huge game away at Blackfield & Langley, who are currently top of the Evo-Stik South Division One South, on Saturday, December 22 before ending the year with two home games.
