Mark Cooper is hoping Charlie Cooper and Lewis Thomas can seal loan moves this month.

Cooper returned to Rovers from a loan spell at Newport County back in December while Thomas faces competition from James Montgomery and Lewis Ward, who joined on loan from Reading this week.

The pair featured for Forest Green in the 3-2 Central League defeat against Bristol Rovers.

Rovers manager Cooper hopes to find suitable moves for the pair but wants to make sure they find the right club.

“Charlie needs to go and play," said Cooper.

It’s impossible for him here. We’ve got some options for that and its picking the right one for Charlie.

It's the same for Lewis it’s about picking the right loan."

Rovers take on second place Bury at the New Lawn on Saturday as they look to build on their five match unbeaten run.

Bury have won three in a row and Cooper is expecting a high quality game and feels Bury have a lot of threatening players in their squad.

"It should be a good game on paper," he said.

"Both teams like to try and play and are exciting to watch so hopefully it's a good game.

"They've got some good threats, Danny Mayor, Nicky Maynard, Nicky Adams and Jay O'Shea's scored a lot of goals so we'll be on our guard but we've got some really good players too."

Rovers came away with a creditable 1-1 draw at Gigg Lane, a ground only Carlisle United have won at in the league and Cooper isn't surprised the Shakers are flying high.

"When you look at their squad I thought they would be up there," Cooper commented.

"We didn't play well up there on the day but we could have won, we conceded a late equaliser when down to 10 men but I'm looking forward to it."

Forest Green will be without Dayle Grubb, who missed last Saturday's trip to Oldham and Cooper expects the winger to be out for around three weeks.
