BOSS Mark Cooper lauded an "outstanding performance" but lamented Forest Green's wastefulness in front of goal.

Nicky Maynard’s late winner saw title-chasing Bury came from behind at Forest Green.

The former Premier League star popped up with just seven minutes left on the clock to make it four wins on the spin for the Shakers.

Earlier, Bury had been on the rocks after Reece Brown had given play-off chasing Rovers the lead in the first-half.

Cooper said: “The performance was outstanding, but I wasn't happy with the result, and the game should have been won at half-time.

“We scored a goal through Reece Brown and then Carl Winchester goes through one-on-one and he fails to get a shot off and George Williams does the same and after that, we didn’t manage the game properly.

“Now it’s about results, they have to see it through and win the game. We were so dominant, and we needed to score another goal and once you don’t get one, you start to get edgy and turn the ball over and what happens can happen.

“The first goal, the man has ran from the halfway line – goes beyond two of our players on the touchline - he should never get that far - and he runs across the box and no one tackles him - and he shoots into the corner.

“ For the second, we let Danny Mayor inside on his right and Maynard is facing his own goal and gets the chance to touch and shoot - and I think we should stop it - and I think the goalkeeper should save it.”
