Gloucestershire County Women's League Division Two

Dursley Town Ladies 0 Bradley Stoke Ladies 3

DURSLEY'S fine start to the new year came to an abrupt halt as table-topping Bradley Stoke steadily took control of the game to run out comfortable winners.

Town started well as Zoe Gabb pounced on some sloppy defending to shoot across the goalkeeper and against the post, and they also forced a succession of corners.

However, Bradley Stoke got more on top as the game progressed and forced home goalkeeper Jodie Turl into a number of good saves to keep the hosts in it.

Nevertheless, the visitors eventually scored from a corner shortly before half-time and a second goal on the hour mark effectively killed the game off.

And while Town had fired 24 goals against Bishop's Cleeve and the Bradley Stoke second-string over the previous two weeks, the leaders were a different proposition.

Dursley found it difficult to create any real chances after the break, and their best effort was Gemma Butler's first-time shot from 25 yards that the goalkeeper held.

Turl and her defence, along with some wayward finishing, kept Bradley Stoke within sight, but the visitors eventually netted a third goal in stoppage-time to seal the win.

And while Town have thrashed all four teams below them in the league, they have now picked up just three points from eight games against the sides above them.
