Gloucestershire County Women's League Division Two

Gloucester City Ladies 1 Dursley Town Ladies 4

MICHELLE Watson led the way with two goals as Dursley produced arguably their best all-round performance of the season to take victory at Gloucester City.

In a bitterly cold wind and on a very bobbly pitch, Town were in front inside ten minutes and could easily have won by a bigger margin than they eventually did.

Just seven minutes had elapsed when Ros Rocke sent over a steepling cross and Charlotte Warren arrived to nod the ball in from under the crossbar.

Watson doubled the lead seven minutes before the break when she trapped a poor kick from the goalkeeper and fired it back over her head from 35 yards.

Stephanie Hill added the third in first-half injury-time when skipping around her marker and finishing well after Emma Allen had burst forward from right-back.

The game could have been settled early in the second half, but Vicky Mansell fired at the goalkeeper and Warren hit the crossbar, both when clean through.

Those misses may have been costly as City pulled one back, but early substitute Vix Thomas made several saves, and defender Stacey Drew was excellent too.

Becky Allen had a goal ruled out following a corner, but Watson settled matters in stoppage-time with an improvised finish that beat the goalkeeper for pace.
