The January transfer window slammed shut last night and concluded a busy month for Forest Green.

Rovers signed five players and also welcomed back Christian Doidge while they saw three players leave on loan and four loan players return to their parent clubs.

Here are all the January ins and outs at the New Lawn.

Incomings

Christian Doidge (Loan Return)

It's not hard to pick out FGR's best bit of business this January.

Christian Doidge's return from Bolton came as a shock as Dale Vince grew frustrated with Bolton's failure to seal his permanent transfer and the striker came back to the New Lawn and picked up where he left off.

He's already scored three goals and become Rovers' joint top scorer in the league.

Shawn McCoulsky (Undisclosed)

Shawn McCoulsky was signed by Bristol City right at the start of the month as the man to replace Doidge but he's found his opportunities limited since the Welsh striker returned.

George Williams' form and Reuben Reid's goal from the bench against Mansfield Town hasn't helped but he proved his worth in League Two with Newport County last season so is a great weapon to have on the bench.

Junior Mondal (Undisclosed)

Junior Mondal agreed to join Forest Green from Whitby Town back in December after impressing on trial.

He's shown flashes of his talented in a couple of substitute appearances but the 21-year-old is certainly one for the future.

Lewis Ward (Loan)

After Robert Sanchez was recalled by Brighton & Hove Albion, Forest Green needed another keeper so snapped up Lewis Ward from Reading on loan until the end of the season.

The six foot five keeper impressed when he came off the bench against Mansfield Town and is set for a run of games while James Montgomery recovers from his injury.

Udoka Godwin-Malife (Undisclosed)

18-year-old defender Udoka Godwin-Malife was secured from National League South Oxford City a week before the transfer window shut.

Malife can play across the back four but is predominantly a centre-half. A young player Mark Cooper is keen to development, he's already faced an EFL side in this season's FA Cup as the non-league side drew 3-3 at Tranmere before losing the replay.

Ben Liddle (loan)

Ben Liddle arrived from Middlesbrough on deadline day to bolster Forest Green's midfield options.

The 20-year-old has been a mainstay in Middlesbrough's Under 23's and will know fellow Rovers man Nathan McGinley from his time at Boro.

His former Middlesbrough team-mate did make his loan move to Forest Green permanent at the start of January.

Outgoings

Tahvon Campbell (Loan)

Striker Tahvon Campbell joined League One Gillingham on loan during the final hour of transfer deadline day.

The 22-year-old fallen down the pecking order since Doidge returned and McCoulsky was signed.

He's netted five goals this campaign.

Scott Laird (Loan)

The defender returned to former club Walsall having been deemed surplus to requirements at the New Lawn.

He's made just one appearance all season and rarely featured in the matchday squad.

Fabien Robert (Loan)

Another player not required is Fabien Robert who hasn't featured for FGR since 2017.

He joined Gloucester City for a second loan spell.

Theo Archibald, Ben Morris, Robert Sanchez and Matt Worthington (Loan Return)

Theo Archibald, Ben Morris, Robert Sanchez and Matt Worthington all returned to Brentford, Ipswich Town, Brighton and Bournemouth respectively.

Archibald, Morris and Worthington all scored once during their loan spells at Rovers before Cooper opted to let them return to their parent clubs while Sanchez played 17 times for Rovers before Brighton called him back at the start of the month.
