Yate Town boss Paul Britton is “gutted” to once again lose Lewis Thomas who will be recalled by Forest Green following an injury to James Montgomery.

The Welsh keeper re-joined Yate on loan earlier in January but he will return to the New Lawn to cover for the injury.

Thomas has proved to be a popular addition at the Bluebells and Britton is disappointed to be losing him.

“That’s probably the end of it for us,” he said.

“We’re disappointed because he’s been outstanding.

“Two weeks ago it would have been him coming off the bench which would have been great but we’re gutted.

“He’s their player though and we want him to do well in professional football.”

The news comes after Yate recorded a brilliant win over Evesham United on Saturday and Britton is keen to follow that up with another victory over 19th place Fleet this weekend.

“It’ll be a big challenge for us as those are the games we’ve come unstuck in,” Britton said.

“We approach every game like it’s the most important so that’s what we’ll do.”
