FOREST Green fell to a disappointing defeat against Swindon Town on Tuesday night.

First half goals from former Rovers loanee Kaiyne Woolery and Theo Robinson saw off Rovers as they suffered back-to-back defeats.

Here are five talking points from a frustrating night at the Energy Check County Ground.

Slow starts proving costly

Forest Green have often come firing out the blocks and scored early goals but haven't start well in recent games and it's proved costly.

Rovers didn't really penetrate Swindon's backline in the first half and the hosts grew in confidence as the half went on and got their goals.

Forest Green did improve in the second half and looked more like themselves and had they started the game like they did in the second half things could have been a lot different.

Game Management

Conceding a goal on the stroke of half-time is arguably the worst time in football to do so (apart from in the 90th minute perhaps).

It can be a killer and really deflate you going into the break.

When 1-0 down just before half time, it's important you don't concede and if Rovers went into the interval just a goal behind, they'd have felt a lot more confident about coming back to win the game, let alone draw.

But instead they found themselves 2-0 behind and went in on a low point.

Earlier in the season, Rovers struggled to manage games when they were 1-0 up and often conceded a late equaliser. Seeing out halves or games may be something they need to look at because there's no doubting the ability and mentality of the players as they've proved it on many occasions this season.

George Williams

George Williams returned to the starting lineup after he was dropped for Reuben Reid against Notts County and was by far the best player in a Forest Green shirt.

He had a goal disallowed, hit the post and was involved in pretty much all of Rovers big goalscoring opportunities.

Overall, his form since December has been fantastic and deserves a regular starting place.

Is there a plan B?

Rovers' style is well known across the league - slick passing football.

Cooper admitted before the game that at home they may need to change their style because of the pitch.

At times against Swindon, the ball was pumped long but it never looked like producing anything.

There will be situations, whether it's down to opposition, pitch conditions or weather, where Rovers will need to mix it up it doesn't appear as though they've found another way of playing that suits them.

The one time they did make a slight change was at Stevenage when they played a more counter-attacking style. That may be something we could see a lot more of in the coming weeks.

Fine margins went against FGR

While Swindon deserved the three points, Rovers actually weren't too far away from getting something.

Williams was unlucky with his shot that was saved onto the post and was marginally offside for his goal.

Dion Conroy was a relieved man as his intervention went wide when it looked like it was heading for the Swindon net so a lick of paint or a few inches went in favour of the hosts.

You need those to go in for you as well if you're going to get promotion.
