Purton 2 R.W Bassett 1
Purton claim a crucial victory in their derby against Royal Wootton Bassett Development.
Purton dominated the first 45 minutes without really performing anywhere near their best.
The hosts took the lead on 25 minutes when a well worked corner routine found the head of Sam English in the box, which he converted. 10 minutes later, Nathan Marland got hold of the ball in the box, turned his defender and struck the ball into the top corner for 2-0.
The second half was a different story, as Purton never really got going.
Bassett had numerous chances to pull one back, including a missed penalty.
The visitors were reduced to 10-men after their midfielder was sent off after heated words with the referee. They did pull one back 10 minutes from time, but Purton held on for a third victory in a row.
