MARK Cooper had positive news on the injury front as he declared James Montgomery and Dayle Grubb fit to play this weekend.

Grubb has been out since New Year's Day while Montgomery hasn't played since suffering a nasty facial injury against this weekend's opponents Mansfield Town on January 29.

The duo look set to return to action this Saturday while the Rovers boss is also hoping to have Liam Shephard, who missed the visit of Yeovil Town through injury, available but was unable to confirm if he'd be fit or not.

"Grubby's back involved, so he'll be in the squad," said Cooper.

"Shephard will be touch and go for the weekend but we're hopeful he'll make the squad.

"Montgomery is fit, he's still got no teeth but he's fit to play."

Cooper is looking forward to facing Mansfield and admitted if Rovers want to finish in the top three, they need to win these kind of matches.

"I think if we've got any illusions of performing a miracle and getting automatic's then these are games we have to win, we're not making any bones about that.

"We have to win some big games between now and the end of the season if we want to do that so as a group the players know where they are and what they've got to do.

"We're enjoying the ride, we're delighted where we are. We could have been better but we could have also been a lot worse so let's just take each game as it comes and see how many points we get and see where it takes us."

A win could see Rovers go to within a point of their opponents in third.
