Yate Town boss Paul Britton is hoping his side can keep up their good record against the league's top sides when they take on Cirencester Town on Saturday.

The Centurions are in fourth place and will be looking to close the gap on the top three when they face Yate at the weekend.

Britton is excited to take on the league’s top scorers and is expecting an open game.

“It’s a great game,” he commented. “They’re scoring loads of goals.

“We just about got the result last time so both teams will be going for it.”

Britton admits his team have been handed a lifeline given Blackfield and Langley's defeat kept the gap at the top at three points the Yate manager is keen to use it as a wake up call for the final run in.

He is also hoping his side can maintain their fine record against the top teams in the division.

“We got lucky with the Blackfield and Langley result,” he said.

“It’ll be about who makes the least mistakes between now and the end of the season.

“There’s eight games to go - we’re not far away.

“Automatic promotion is still the aim.

“Cirencester are in with a shout too.

“They can go four points behind us if they win.

“We’ve used that before at Blackfield and Langley and we’ve raised our game in the big matches.

“It’ll be tough on Saturday against the top scorers in the league.
