Mark Cooper was full of praise for Reece Brown's all round performance as his brace inspired Forest Green to victory.
The midfielder took his tally to 10 for the season at Vale Park.
Cooper praised Brown for his performance, his improvement compared to last season and his hopes of keeping him next season.
He was also pleased with the impact of the substitutes and the defensive display as Rovers kept a clean sheet.
