STONEHOUSE TOWN have named former Forest Green Ladies' manager Phil Orsborn as their new boss.

Orsborn, who replaces Ian Soule at the County League outfit, previously managed Forest Green Rovers Ladies for three years, winning the GFA Trophy twice and securing a fourth-placed league finish.

He also won the Northern Senior League while manager of Sharpness and the Harry Greening Cup with Berkeley Town, leading the club to their highest finish in the County League.

Stonehouse finished third under Soule last season, who opted to leave the Oldends Lane outfit.

Orsborn will be assisted by Ian Giles, who boasts a raft of experience, managing Cheltenham Saracens and Cinderford U18s along with stints in the Western League with Hengrove Athletic and Oldland Abbotonians

Orsborn said: "I am delighted with my appointment at Stonehouse, the club has a fantastic infrastructure and committee, who are very ambitious as to where they want the club to go.

"I'm confident I can play an important part in that journey. The squad is strong and my experience of developing young players will mean we have strength in depth next season with the whole club given the opportunity to compete for first-team places.

"My assistant Ian Giles has a wealth of experience and between us we intend to build a strong squad that will compete and challenge throughout the season."
